Summer neglect
Its’ funny, I though hmm, now that school is out for the summer I can dedicate more time to my blog… lol
well, this summer I completely lost myself in visions of singularity and dreams of how to augment my mind with an AI agent(s). This, although often in the back of my head came to the forefront of my attention half unintentionally through examining my musical grammar using IRCAM’s terrific software OpenMusic (which I spent much of last year trying to port back to OSX as GPL… but got stuck on the Lisp header).
So now the summer is almost over and I am looking back again at office suites for OSX (other than MS). It turns out that for some months now there have been efforts to compile OpenOffice 2.0 beta for PPC. I really like the new interface, but what the hell, the fonts… the FONTS! It makes me really appreciate NeoOffice all the more (hopefully the recent donation will propel NeoOffice into the 2.0 stream).
I was also thinking about the tour de France … and Dakar. I think I am a summer sport guy, I don’t really get riled up about sports but I love watching Tour de France and Dakar in the summertime. It’s like it part of what makes the summer complete… like the Jazzfest in Montreal.
